1: Clean your prefetch to improve performance.
This folder stores the programs that you have used, and stores lots of prefetched data and makes your pc slow. SO i suggest that you open C(system drive):/windows/prefetch, delete all files
(BE SURE TO CLOSE ALL PROGRAMS BEFORE CLEARING IT)

2:You must have faced problem of slow startup, every one does. The cause is installing too many startup objects. Heres the cure: Go To: Start-Run, type MSCONFIG then enter, In Msconfig select startup and disselect unnecessary startup files

3:Iam sure ou are interested to speed up your hard disk.

a:Go To:Device Manager-Disk Drives- right click on the drive you see when expanded -properties-policies and then Select Write Caching on Disk(read Warning)
